Yango, an urban transport app, launched on November 18 a new safety technology in the service that monitors drivers' driving style. Yango's algorithm collects feedback on users' trips in real time, computing the data on a progressive scale of impact.
If users regularly give app um feedback about a potentially dangerous driving style of a particular driver, such comments may result in a notice of breach of service standards to the driver concerned. If after notification there is no change in conduct, the algorithm will restrict the driver from accessing the Yango app. In this way, the technology helps to alert drivers who use the app on dangerous maneuvers and accident risks.
“We constantly invest in our own security technologies because we want to contribute to overall security in cities. Today, we are pleased to launch this feature in Luanda. We are committed to bringing other security technologies that have already proven their efficiency in other markets”, highlighted Ivan Mugimbo, Representative of Yango.
The Yango application already has a series of functions that increase the security level of all trips that allow, for example, users to share their itinerary with trusted contacts so that they can follow the route or inform them about any personal belongings left in a vehicle. Through the application, users can also contact Customer Service if the driver violates traffic rules or if other inconveniences occur. Also as a security measure, Yango provides the user with the car registration number and the name of the driver for the requested trip.
