Zippyshare announced the end of its activities

Nowadays there are many platforms in the cloud that allow file sharing, but anyone from my time (Hey, I'm Kota), knows perfectly well that platforms like Mediafire, Zippyshare are among the first that allowed us to have access to several music downloads, images, etc.

After almost 17 years online, file hosting veteran Zippyshare will be shut down at the end of March 2023. Founded in 2006, the platform was known for its free, convenient and no-hassle approach to storing files online. Having changed very little over the years, Zippyshare's operators ensure that the platform is now a dinosaur that costs a lot to run in a world where ad blocking is widespread.

What is causing the closure?

The platform, which has 45 million visits per month, does not make money, however, the company claims that the reduction of users is happening constantly. Apparently, many people are looking for more modern sharing services and are no longer using the platform in question.

Another problem is the ad blockers, as millions of users access Zippyshare and block the ads that appear on the site, causing a drop in the platform's revenue. That is, the costs are high to maintain a large amount of traffic, but they cannot profit from it.
