ZTE Responds to Accusations of US Security Agencies

A few days ago, the information that indicated the suspected espionage of Chinese manufacturers, especially Huawei, to North American computer systems.

ZTE has insisted that it is a trusted partner for US customers and takes cyber security seriously, thus responding to allegations by government officials that the Chinese company uses its equipment to spy on the US.

The Chinese state news agency Xinhua quoted a representative of the company: "ZTE is proud of the innovation and safety of our products in the US market."

"As a publicly traded company, we are committed to adhere to all applicable US laws and regulations, work with carriers to approve stringent testing protocols and abide by the highest business standards“Explained the representative.

Earlier this month, Republican Senators Tom Cotton and Marco Rubio introduced legislation that would block the U.S. government from buying or renting telecommunications equipment from Huawei or ZTE, based on the allegations indicated above. Telephone operators AT & T and Verizon stopped selling Huawei's Mate 10 Pro device in the country in response to US government concerns.

Huawei also criticized the allegations, saying that the US wants to give a boost to devices sold by its companies.

Spam allegations against both companies date back to 2012 when the US investigated whether its equipment could be used for espionage or posed a threat to US infrastructure. Both companies have always denied the claims.
