Thousands of Android smartphones are no longer compatible with Google services

As of today, September 27, thousands of smartphones with the Android system will no longer have access to various Google services, namely Google Maps, Gmail, YouTube.

This measure comes after a few months ago the multinational Google has set a limit on support for older versions of the Android system. Scheduled to happen today, September 27, this change leaves out thousands of Android smartphones with Gingerbread version (2.7.3) or earlier.

In its defence, Google says it is raising its security standards, and unfortunately for these versions it is no longer possible to ensure their security, as they have been on the market for more than 10 years, they are subject to being recurrently targeted by attacks and sources of security problems by hackers.

BUT: Google starts to warn when searches are unreliable

According to the official statement from Google, that revealed in july, from the 27th of September, users will start having problems accessing Google's services. When trying to read the email in Gmail, when accessing YouTube or trying to use the account on Google Maps, an error message will be displayed, which will be associated with the username or password.

Also inform that this same situation can happen if the user tries to do a factory reset of their Android smartphone. In the configuration process, authentication error messages will appear and this process will not be possible to finish.

As recommendations from Google are the same as those of many other manufacturers and in similar situations. The smartphone should be updated if possible, to version 3 or higher of Android. If this is not possible, the phone must be replaced.
