A Microsoft knows that Nokia may have lost the battle of smartphones to Samsung, Apple and company, but the market for low-cost mobile phones is still a very profitable option.
Based on this idea, Microsoft designed the Nokia 215, an extremely cheap device that will cost 29 USD only. The structure of this phone is reminiscent of old Nokia devices with a touch of modernity from Lumia. This mobile phone has Internet access, with Facebook and Messenger pre-installed. Users can also install Twitter, Opera Mini, Bing Search and MSN Weather.
The most interesting part of this gadget is the 1100 mAh battery, which according to Microsoft, will last for 29 days on the device with a chip and 21 days on the device with two chips, in stand-by. The Nokia 215 battery will have 20-hour talk time and up to 50 hours of music playback, which are totally awesome values.
At this price, this mobile phone targets developing countries, both in Africa, Asia, the Middle East and some European countries.
With no scheduled release date, Microsoft has confirmed that the smartphone will be out in the first half.
