The group responsible for developing new standards for USB technology announced that the new generation will be able to double the data transfer speed – from 40Gbps to 80Gbps.
More impressive than this increase is the fact that the new standard allows older models of USB-C cables to be used, thus becoming available to a much broader group of users.
BUT: Worker in Japan loses USB stick with personal data from one.
However, despite the encouraging news, it is still unknown when the new standard for USB-C cables will be available to ordinary users.
