During the developer conference, Microsoft made it clear that many new features would appear for the Windows 8.1 update.

The main objective is to make users who are not so adept at touch-sensitive devices more comfortable and prefer the “old guard” gadgets, the keyboard and the mouse.

This update is mandatory, that is, if you do not install Windows 8.1 Update, you will simply stop receiving updates from Microsoft. As mentioned above, the outstanding improvements in this new version are for those who do not have a touchscreen, since Windows 8.1 Update has been optimized for use with a keyboard and mouse.

So far we have not had the return of the (famous) “start menu”, nor the universal apps, which promise to be compatible with Smartphones, Tablets and Desktops.

In this update the visible changes are in the interface, such as the appearance of the taskbar when the cursor passes through the bottom of the screen in programs fullscreen and the button to turn off the computer modern interface, easier to find (there are users who have given up Windows 8/ 8.1 because they just could not turn the system off!)

It is hoped that these changes will bring back some users who have preferred to go back to Windows 7, for greater ease of use.
