Android 4.4

It should not be news to anyone that Google has decided to give exotic names to the versions of its mobile Operating System, Android. Since version 1.5 these names have been famous desserts or cakes in Obama's lands (understand USA).

Do not know Android versions? Here's a list:

  • 1.5: Cupcake
  • 1.6: Donut
  • 2.0 - 2.1: Eclear
  • 2.2: Froy
  • 2.3: Gingerbread
  • 3.0 - 3.2: Honeycomb
  • 4.0: Ice Cream Sandwich
  • 4.1 - 4.2 - 4.3: Jellie bean

To continue the alphabetical sequence, Google decided to have a "conversation" with the famous food company, Nestlé ... so that there would be a partnership for Google to use the name "Kit Kat" for Android 4.4.

From now on stay tuned, as a marketing campaign between Google and Hershey, the company that makes the KitKat chocolate bar, has begun and around 19 countries will receive more than 50 million chocolate bars, where the packaging design will have O robot Android to bite a candy bar. Those lucky enough to find these chocolate bars will have the chance to win a tablet  Nexus 7 or credits to be used in the Google Play.

For now, the technical news of this new version of Android has not been announced, but it is almost certain that it will be officially presented in October.

It’s Google circulating in all sectors… Why does not this surprise me?
