Android has been a favorite target of viruses

axThe Google associates the term "Android" with "Freedom" and apparently some developers did not understand the concept well.

In recent years this freedom has been used for testing various malicious software. Yes, viruses. In 2012 the numbers reached awesome 79%. That is, more than two-thirds of the viruses made for mobile platforms are intended for the Android platform.

These viruses can steal confidential data, alter the normal functioning of the mobile phone or install software that monitors the user.

The study was made by the well-known digital security company, F-Secure, which came to the conclusion that viruses for Android have had an impressive growth.

  •  in 2010, only 11% of Malwares were directed to the platform Android.
  • In 2011, 66% of platform attacks were reached
  • In 2012, 79%

This shows how the platform has expanded, but leaves questions about the security measures implemented to improve the platform.

To give you an idea, iOS is the target of only 0,7% of viruses. Which shows little interest on the part of developers to attack Apple's mobile system.

Nokia's Symbian has 19% of the threat of the mobile world, with a downward trend, as this system (fortunately) is being sidelined by Nokia in its high-end mobile phones.

The question for the followers of MenosFios is: do you use any antivirus on the Android platform?
