A Google will now give users the ability to choose which apps are able to display full-screen notifications, a permission that is often abused by developers to display more intrusive advertising.
The GSMArena website says that this capability will become available in the next major update to Google's operating system, the Android 14, slated for a fall release. Thanks to this capability, users will have greater control over the type of experience provided by their applications.

Also note that, sometime during late 2023, the Play Store will have new guidelines that will require apps to have this full-screen permission disabled. Only calls and alarms will be able to take advantage, by 'standard', of the ability to display a full screen notification.
