Angola present at the XNUMXst Lusophone Internet Governance Forum

An Angolan delegation was present at the XNUMXst Lusophone Forum of Internet Governance which took place from the 18th to the 19th of this month at the Portuguese Language Museum and at the NIC.Br Headquarters, in the city of São Paulo, Brazil.

Led by the National Director of Telecommunications and Information Technologies, Matias Borges and the Director of the Institute for the Promotion of the Information Society (INFOSI), André Pedro, the meeting brought together experts, bodies responsible for the management, registration and maintenance of domains, companies and universities from Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, Portugal and São Tomé, with the aim of addressing the challenges of the Internet in Portuguese-speaking countries.

The event also considered several themes, with emphasis on the Portuguese language on the Internet; Artificial Intelligence: challenges and opportunities for the Portuguese language; Digital Training and Internet Governance initiatives in Portuguese; Launch of the initiative for a “Small Lusophone Internet Almanac”; A Lusophone agenda for the future of Digital Cooperation at an international level: Global Digital Compact and WSIS+20; Cooperation and creation of a Lusophone FGI Secretariat.

In addition to the forum, the delegation also participated in the General Assembly of LusNIC (Association of Portuguese Language ccTLDs), a body that brings together entities responsible for the management, registration and maintenance of domains in all Portuguese-speaking countries, where the Director of INFOSI, Eng. André Pedro was elected President of the Supervisory Board for a period of 4 years.
