The hacktivist group Anonymous, days ago declared cyber war against the Islamic State, and seems to be already paying off. They initiated an operation that resulted in the deletion of thousands of Twitter accounts associated with ISIS.

After the official declaration of war against the Islamic State, members of Anonymous have already started with one that could be one of their biggest sabotage operations in history. The group has already deleted more than 3.800 Twitter accounts associated with the ISIS terrorist group on its first day of operation. They created a special page for OpParis, and a website where Anonymous members register all accounts.

Anyone interested can have easy access to the site and may enter in the database any account that is associated with the terrorist organization. Therefore, they wish to include all ISIS members and associated information such as names, locations, appearance and other accounts on social networks or websites.

Ghost Security, another group of hacktivism, had discovered Bitcoin worth 2,8 million euros in the wallets of ISIS members before they attacked them in Paris. The group of hackers had already threatened the terrorists once, following the attacks on the newspaper Charlie Hebdo. They even published a complete list of Twitter accounts that had advertisements from pro-ISIS groups.

The presence of ISIS has declined considerably in major social networks such as YouTube, Twitter or LiveLeak, but they always arrange to attract new members through phantom websites or fake accounts.
