Boeing presented the software revision for 737 Max aircraft

2095

Boeing today announced a comprehensive review of its software system and pilot training for its 27.03.2019 MAX aircraft. This is the most direct attempt to fix an element of the original aircraft project that investigators believe has led to two recent crashes.

At the company's plant in Renton, Wash., Where the airplane is assembled, Boeing examined scenarios on a flight simulator that was broadcast live to a conference room where about 200 pilots from client airlines were gathered, according to Mike Sinnett (Vice President of Product Strategy for Boeing), guests were able to request test simulations.

"Boeing is working with its customers and regulators around the world to restore faith in the company and also to reaffirm our commitment to safety and gain the confidence of the flying public," said Sinnett.
"The rigor and meticulousness in the design and tests that went to MAX give us complete confidence that the changes we are making will resolve any of these accidents."

A also produced a new computer-based training program to help pilots better understand MCAS and how to react when the technology is in use. It is even more promising to deliver a previously available optional security feature available for free.

The US aviation regulatory agency has yet to approve the correction and will take time thereafter to install the update, test it, and train the teams on the changes. This also does not include foreign airlines wishing to conduct their own reforms and testing, which can take much longer.
