The National Space Program Management Office (GGPEN) has been promoting training for academics and society in general to have greater knowledge of satellites. It is not enough to launch a large satellite and enjoy its services, it is necessary to train staff and educate the population about the advantages of this technology.

On the second day of AngoTIC 2019, ten satellite satellites were officially launched from the Cabo Ledo military base. This operation was carried out with the assistance of the National Air Force (FAN), which pico-satellites at an altitude of five hundred meters.

The launch was covered live by GGPEN

Launched satellites are for educational purposes. Among other functions, students will be able to realize in practice how the gyro and accelerometer works (necessary to control a satellite), as well as learn how to measure temperature, pressure, humidity, carbon monoxide concentration in the air and take photos to large distances.

The satellites began sending telemetric data to the Cabo Ledo earth station. The CANSAT has sensors that are transmitting telemetric signals to the ground station.

If you pass through the GGPEN stand at AngoTIC 2019, the team responsible for the Angolan space project is available to ask questions.

[Update 1] - 20/06/2019 – 12:00 : Change in the number of satellites launched and the maximum distance reached.
