CNE announces public tender to obtain a technological solution for the 2022 General Elections

The National Electoral Commission (CNE) will announce in the next few days a public tender for the acquisition of the technological solution for the 2022 general elections, with the aim of establishing a framework that ensures greater speed and speed in the processing of information and, consequently, the dissemination of results.

This information was revealed to journalists at the beginning of this week, by CNE spokesperson, Lucas Quilundo, after the extraordinary plenary meeting of that institution, where the flowchart of the scrutiny and tabulation of the country's General Elections was appreciated and approved.

Speaking to the journalists present, the leader said that the technological solution is established in the Law and is yet another computer tool to allow the electoral process to be conducted with the most modern means available, facilitating the entire management process.

The meeting also served to inform that another tender will be announced, which corresponds to electoral logistics transport, where Lucas Quilundo explained that, with the approval of the institutional plan, two working commissions were set up in charge of conducting the process of acquiring the material of the general elections.

"The two commissions will start their activity very soon and it will be possible to make them public", said.

It was also reinforced that the approved flowchart represents a working tool for the CNE and its bodies, aimed at facilitating the process of scrutiny and tabulation of the result of the 2022 elections.

"This instrument was extracted from Law nº 30/21 of 30 November, Law of Amendment to the Organic Law of General Elections, nº 36/11 of 21 December, because there was a need, within the framework of the preparation of the 2022 electoral process, to approve instruments implementation of these legal provisions”, highlighted Quilundo.

The flowchart, he said, clarifies the end of voting, the end of counting at the polling station, the process of drawing up the minutes of the polling station.

"Under the terms of the Law, it will serve as the basis for the national tabulation of results, that is, the results that are established in the polling station are consolidated by a minute. These minutes are transmitted simultaneously to the national scrutiny centre. That is, for the National Electoral Commission and for the Provincial Electoral Commission”, he clarified.

The journalists were also informed that the extraordinary meeting of 26 November, in which the schedule of institutional actions of the electoral process was approved, considering it a practical working tool for the CNE, where all the tasks leading to the holding of the elections are established results for 2022, until the announcement of the results.

"At the CNE, we call it a calendar of tasks subject to a deadline, that is, with the approval of the law and with the temporal imperative, the CNE must equip itself with practical instruments that facilitate and help its local bodies and other electoral agents to the maximum in the sense of the realization of this program”, added the spokesperson.
