In addition to the surprise of launching a curved screen phablet at this year's IFA, the Galaxy Note Edge, Samsung had prepared another surprise for the night. Their virtual reality glasses, Gear VR, were presented to the public in a partnership with Oculus Rift, which now belongs to Facebook.
Gear VR seeks to give the user a new experience of mobile content consumption and also seek to create users a virtual and realistic cinematic environment. At this time of release it is only compatible with the Galaxy Note 4 and in this way until we can consider it an accessory for Note 4. For those who have read a lot about the Oculus Rift, the Gear VR is similar to it, only with a higher resolution of 2560 × 1440.
The Gear has side buttons such as a touchpag, volume buttons, and the back button. You can also use the Bluetooth controls for Note 4. Nothing has been stated as the Gear VR will work with the games, but in the images it is possible to see user with a joystick.
The glasses are accompanied by a microSD card that features videos and trailers of which we highlight a Cirque du Soleil show and a virtual tour of the Iron Man laboratory inside the new Avengers tower.
