Meet the winners of the Unitel Apps Angola 2017 Contest

14h00, the second edition of the competition, was held yesterday at CCTA. Unitel Apps Angola 2017, with this contest Unitel promotes for the second consecutive year the development of applications created exclusively by Angolans, thus contributing to the digital inclusion of young people, encouraging them to develop their technological skills. The opening and closing speech was made by Tony Dalton (General Manager of Unitel)

According to information advanced by Juelson Bartolomeu (Innovation Department of Unitel), were 80 applications, in which in a first phase were filtered 43 projects, which were later reduced to 9 who arrived as finalists and were allocated in 3 categories which are: Responsibility Social, Games, and Free Themes.

Category Social Responsibility:

  1. My school

It is an application that is adaptable to all school institutions, since it aims to facilitate the teaching process, regarding the management of the institution and beyond. The application allows students to control student attendance, release notes, issue terms, statements.

This project aims to transform all manual processes from institutions to digital and can be had through a mobile application. This mobile application is an incremental existing platform that is installed in institutions, will serve to assist both students or members of the institution when they are distant from it and need some information without the need to move the installation of education.

  1. Blood life

The purpose of this application is to solve a problem with regard to blood donation, through this application it is possible for the user to register, choose the blood type and become a donor.

Through this application, hospital units in Angola will be able to find donors in real time in and directly contact, thus avoiding the search of donors and saving lives.

  1. Stop Malaria

It is an application that aims to allow individuals to make donations through the balance in the phone or physical donations. When it is said by balance is the possibility of the user to donate for example 10 UTT's that later can be converted by Unitel, since the physical donations are relative to mosquito netting, in which these donations can be registered in the application and the later deliver to a store of the nearest Unitel.

This application reinforces the STOP MALARIA project of Unitel, which aims to help other people with the donations.

Category Games:

  1. Views of Angola

The Interactive Load staff competed with a game in which shows the Angolan identity through images. This is the puzzle called "Views of Angola“.The objective of the game is to train users to slide pieces to organize images correctly“ Puzzle ”, in this version presented to the contest, the application comes up with some news, with the option for the user to take a photo at the moment and transform it it in puzzle and insert into the game.

  1. Stop

The traditional Stop game, which allows you to make a list of things depending on a letter quoted by competitors, has now been scanned as it is that childhood play can be used on a smartphone.

It even offers a multiplayer mode, where a number of people can play, and even gives suggestions when the user can not hit the name of an object with a certain letter.

  1. KnockOut

The well-known Bantu Games, was present with a new game called KnockOut, quite simple and is focused on multiplayer mode, where it supports up to 16 users simultaneously.

Purpose of the game is to put each player through a ball in the ring and push the others out of the ring. The focus is social being, having chat among users, having rankings, where it will be possible to compete with Facebook friends and share the winner.

Category Free Themes:

  • One Click

The application in question, allows users to enjoy the Unitel Access Menu quickly and simply, all based on clicks. In this way, for a customer to request the "Advance only", you only have to click on the button labeled "Advance only" with just one click and enter the number, the same for "Alone League" and other services in the grid of the Unitel.

In this application there are more than eight services, some already mentioned and the 10 friends, customer support, balance transfer, download, load balance data, all no one click.

  • Bicot

Surely this app will please Angolan readers, as this application aims to sell documents, books or scientific articles in digital format.

In this application can be found of the most varied national books featured, technical and scientific literature, university projects and more. These digital articles will be official, granted by the authors or publishers representing it.

  • Already Tickets

This application aims to help Unitel sell tickets for their Shows, in which the customer can buy one or more tickets from some UNITEL show and be discounted through their normal mobile phone balance.

It also allows sharing moments within the show, sharing moments in social networks, reviewing the complete Unitel shows that have already happened, or reviewing some moments of a certain show performed by the company.

Winners

Each category had only one winner. In the category of social responsibility, the seller was the application My school, in the category of games won the Stop, and in the free themes category won the application One click.

Awards 

The winners of each category will receive professional support for the development of the project during 2 months, will have the opportunity to launch their application in the main worldwide platforms, they also received 1 computer by group, they were entitled to programming certification, and the opportunity to participate Unitel Bootcamp (training in themes of technological entrepreneurship).
