A Kaspersky Lab, conducted a study with more than 4831 people from all over the world, whose results showed that the majority of people who like, comment or share information on social networks, do not like these digital spaces.

Social networks have already become important tools in your life, not only to be in communication with friends but also to have access to the memories of your life. So, if you've ever thought of saying goodbye to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, SnapChat or even Whatsapp, know that you're not alone.

According to this study, the desire to keep in touch with friends and preserve online memories are the reason why 78% remain connected to social networks, even if they have already tried to give up. In addition, 37% of respondents said they believe they are wasting time on social media.

Kaspersky Lab's director of social networks, Evgeny Chereshnev, in his statement said: “Social media can be a benefit or a risk. If they are a benefit, it is not our problem: we believe that everyone has the right to freely decide which platforms to use or stop using whenever they want. True digital freedom is not something that necessarily leads to sacrifices ”

Most participants believe that by leaving social networks, they would lose contacts with their friends. Others are less concerned about friends, but are afraid that they will not be able to retrieve their digital memories as photos, videos of certain celebrations, etc.

Kaspersky Lab aims to help with the preservation of online memories, which is why, launched the platform FFForget, an encrypted copy of all your digital memories that will be released this year. An application that allows you to make a backup of all existing memories on social networks. This application offers the possibility for users to be able to leave any social network without fear of losing something, all because digital memories are kept.
