Huawei Launches Its Latest Data Center Network Solution

At the Huawei Industrial Digital Transformation Conference 2021, the Huawei unveiled its latest CloudFabric 3.0 hyper-converged data center networking solution.

This future-proof solution is ideal for building lossless compute and storage networks based on an all-Ethernet architecture and is designed to unleash 100% of computing power.

In addition, as a Layer 3 autonomous driving network trendsetter, this solution also excels in delivering full lifecycle network automation and intelligent O&M across the entire network, reducing OPEX by up to 30% and enabling smart upgrades of companies.

Kevin Hu, president of Huawei's data communications product line, said: “The data center stores large amounts of valuable data. Data is the main input to the smart world. When digitizing businesses, we need to use data at all times, so data needs to be stored and transmitted efficiently. To this end, storage and networking must collaborate strongly in data centers.”

“Now most storage devices are all flash and more services are moving to the cloud. With these changes, data center networks are morphing into all Ethernet. However, traditional Ethernet now faces several challenges, such as eliminating network problems caused by packet loss. This includes loss of computing power and data, as well as deployment of complex services and network O&M,” says Hu.

To overcome these challenges, Huawei launched the latest CloudFabric 3.0 hyper-converged data center networking solution. The following are just a few of the innovations that set this solution apart from the competition:

• Ethernet for High-Performance Computing: Eliminates Ethernet packet loss and frees up 100% of computing power

Huawei has introduced an intelligent lossless (iLossless) algorithm for network connectivity, which dynamically adjusts parameter settings based on real-time network traffic status to enable zero packet loss in data center networks and maximize the power of computing.

• Active-Active All-Ethernet Storage Network: Enables lossless long-distance transmission over Ethernet and increases the performance of active-active storage.

Huawei took a significant step forward in long-distance data transmission by unveiling the iLossless-DCI algorithm, which extends lossless transmission distances on Ethernet to a maximum of 70 km. Compared to conventional storage networks, this feature-rich all-Ethernet active-active storage network improves IOPS by more than 80%.

• Full lifecycle network automation: Deploys NaaS and service provisioning in seconds

Huawei CloudFabric 3.0 also innovates with 3D modeling, which enables automated design and optimal recommendation of network solutions through a comprehensive, multidimensional optimized solution. The resulting benefits include NaaS, service delivery in seconds and full lifecycle network intelligence, encompassing network planning, construction, maintenance and optimization.

• Intelligent O&M across the network: achieves self-healing of faults and ensures 24/7 always-on services

Huawei has also started a new wave of intelligent O&M across the network, introduced knowledge graphs for data center networks, implemented fast fault location in minutes, and proactively predicted up to 97% of network risks. Thanks to intelligent O&M capabilities across the entire network, Huawei CloudFabric 3.0 enables a beneficial transformation from passive to proactive O&M, ensuring 24/7 always-on services.
