Oracle expands presence in Africa with new office in Nigeria

In order to reinforce its commitment to Africa, the Oracle announced this week the opening of a new office in Abuja that will focus exclusively on driving the adoption of the cloud in the public sector of Niga © ria.

Nigeria's public sector is focused on providing transparent, efficient and proactive services to its citizens. Oracle's goal will be to support the government to implement its vision with a modern, secure and economical set of cloud solutions built specifically for the public sector.

Nigerian Telecommunications Minister Barrister Abdur-Raheem Adebayo Shittu said that "innovation in ICT is vital to improve the experience of citizens, boost new investment opportunities, increase government revenues and identify new growth paths".

The opening of the Abuja office underscores Oracle's commitment to the Nigerian government to increase service offerings on the African continent. The new office will create new job opportunities for talented professionals and is equipped with modern communication tools to offer an exceptional customer experience.

Expanding presence across Africa to support a rapidly growing customer base and partners is a key priority for Oracle.

Opening services in Nigeria, Oracle now operates 13 dedicated offices across Africa (Nigeria, Egypt, South Africa, Algeria, Kenya, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Senegal, Morocco and Mauritius). Angola is not yet on this list, unfortunately…
