Elon Musk recently reported that he has planned to send 12.000 thousand space satellites through Space X, and as promised, have already been launched the first in the test phase.
With this launch, the Space X is now one step further to provide satellite broadband access, as it has successfully launched a rocket F which delivered two demonstration satellites Starlink in low Earth orbit.
The company is already working on this for some time, and the two satellites Starlink will help you test your systems to ensure Internet access to the earth before more of them are deployed in space.
Why thousands of satellites?
Traditional satellite Internet services are expensive and can be slow due to the way geostationary satellites work. But with a constellation of thousands of smaller satellites, SpaceX can overcome the obstacles posed by the distance between them and can thus offer a faster and more accessible service than the existing ones.
To that end, SpaceX plans to put thousands of satellites into orbit between 2019 and 2024 in the hope that the revenue generated by the service offered will work for missions to Mars.
