Prisma is an application that turns photos into works of art using styles from famous artists like Van Gogh and Munch. Its most recent update brought as a novelty the power to transform live videos into Facebook.
During live streaming of a video on the Facebook Live, users will be able to apply any of the eight artistic filters that will be available in their transmissions and this will allow the user to transform any common event into a painting in motion in real time. Unfortunately, this feature has a very limited scope: the user will only be able to apply the filters through an iPhone. The update also improves the overall video quality.
In its announcement, the company said that it has the knowledge that, Facebook and Google are working on their own tools in what he calls “Prisma-like ”. Since the social network Marck Zukerberg launched artistic filters a few days ago similar to Snap, while Google revealed which is working on its own style transfer technology at the same time.
Prisma promises to launch a new offline processing feature for its Android OS fans and also bring GIF support to add to social sharing options and improve photo quality and offline processing time.
Prisma combines neural networks and artificial intelligence to add effects and transform images into creative works. Free, the application is available for Android and iPhone (iOS).
