Regarding 45% of the shares that will be privatized, it has now been guaranteed that the capital of Angola Telecom that the Executive wants to dispose of is estimated at about 500 million USD, revealed the Minister of Telecommunications and Information Technologies.

Second José Carvalho da Rocha (Minister of Telecommunications and Information Technology), who spoke last week to journalists, on the sidelines of the inauguration of the Angola's new data center in Fortaleza, Brazil, the value results from an evaluation of the assets of the recently concluded company. The amount that in practice is valued by the public company in the total amount of about 1,1 billion USD takes into account the company's real estate assets as well as its assets, including telecommunications infrastructures and participations in companies, including banking.

According to the portfolio holder, who reiterated that the privatization process of Angola Telecom should be launched later this year through an international public tender, the final value should, however, be subject to negotiation with the buyer, taking into account only the company's situation, which is deficit, but above all the charges that will have to be borne with a view to its modernization. The cost of launching the mobile operation, which is expected to be around USD 120 million, should also be taken into account.
