You may already know the utility O&O AppBuster as a brilliant tool to remove unwanted Microsoft Store apps that unnecessarily take up space on your hard drive.
A recent update added the ability to also remove programs from the Desktop, making it a sort of one-stop shop for cleaning out junk from your PC. In this article, we explain how you can use the new features to clean your Desktop of junk and (also) how to remove Microsoft's built-in bloatware from your PC.
Visit https://bit.ly/3sQJnxN and click the big green 'Download' button on the right to save the latest version of AppBuster to your PC. It's a portable program, which means you don't need to install anything on your computer – just double-click the 'OOAPB.exe' file you downloaded to run the tool, then click 'Yes' in the alert window. User Account Control that appears.
AppBuster will quickly scan the applications and programs on your computer when it starts. The main interface is simple. Along the top there are three tabs: 'All', 'Desktop' and 'Windows'.
Clicking one of these tabs will determine which apps and tools are displayed in the main list below. The list is divided into columns and you can click on the
column headers to sort applications by Name ('Name'), Publisher ('Publisher'), Storage size ('Storage'), etc., in descending or ascending order.
Alternatively, if there is a specific application you are looking for, you can click the 'Search' box in the top right corner, type the name (or partial name) of the application you want, then press 'Enter '.
To remove unwanted software from the Desktop, click the 'Desktop' tab at the top. The list will now show the Desktop programs installed on your computer. Look for the programs you want to uninstall and check the box next to them.
When you're ready, click the red 'Remove' button. On the confirmation screen that opens, you can select whether you want to uninstall the software for 'All Users' (the default option) or just for the 'Current User'. Alternatively, select 'Computer' to completely remove the software from your PC. Click “Yes” when ready.
