When we heard about Galaxy Note, we obviously remembered Samsung's big fiasco, the Galaxy Note 7, the “Phablet” plagued by battery problems, even after several attempts by Samsung to correct the error.
Today, August 23, Samsung chose New York as the stage to present the Galaxy Note 8, a smartphone with a similar structure to the Galaxy S8.
Believe the rumors ...
When it comes to Samsung, the rumors are right. The Galaxy Note 8 has a Super AMOLED screen of 6,3 inches, with curves on the sides. The resolution is 2960 × 1440 pixels, with 18,5: 9 ratio.
The new top of the South Korean manufacturer has 6 GB of RAM, three options for storage 64 / 128 / 256 GB (with microSD slot) and octa-core processor - Snapdragon 835 in the USA, and Exynos 8 Octa in other countries.
One of the most awaited points: the battery, has 3300 mAh, capacity lower than the Notes 7, which had 3500 mAh.
What really changed?
If you are thinking about what has really changed in relation to Galaxy S8, we explain here: the camera. Galaxy Note 8 has two 12 megapixel sensors, both with optical image stabilization. One of the sensors is equipped with a f / 1,7 aperture lens, and the other has a closer lens (f / 2,4), which allows 2x optical zoom and a bokeh effect on portraits. The front camera (the famous camera of the selfies), has 8 megapixel resolution and aperture f / 1,7.
The pen continues ...
As is traditional with the “Galaxy Note” line, there is a compartment for the S Pen, which has new features, among them: translating entire sentences, converting currencies and fixing manuscripts on Always On Display.
Both the Galaxy Note 8, when the S Pen are water and dust resistant (IP68 certification).
There are no surprises regarding the Operating System: Android 7.1.1 Nougat customized by Samsung.
Release date
The Galaxy Note 8 will be available globally from September 15 in black, gray, gold and blue.
It remains to be seen whether the division of Samsung in Angola will make an official presentation of the Smartphone, setting a price for the domestic market.
Price
The initial price for the less-stocked version will be 930 USD (for the North American market).

For still a loyal owner of the Galaxy Note 7, Samsung will make a discount on the purchase of the Galaxy Note 8.
