A year of free Netflix? Do not fall for this blow !!!

2636

A blow is circulating in the Internet and especially in the WhatsApp in which it is announced that Netflix is offering a free year of subscription. Cybercriminals are taking advantage of the demand for the service to spread viruses through available logins and tutorials.

The scam is presented at different addresses, such as “netfIix.me/promo"and "netfIix.vip/promo“. That is, the fake website link indicated is netFIIX - not Netflix. Incidentally, the company is not running any promotion in which it offers a year of free subscription.

Whoever accesses the link goes to a page with a design similar to that of Netflix, however, does not belong to the company. The blow, in addition to infecting the electronic devices with viruses, the user may also have the data stolen.

The message is accompanied by a link that takes the user to a fake site that uses a visual identity similar to the Netflix site that requests the visitor's phone number and credit card number.

In addition to requiring that the false promotion be shared with ten friends or groups of WhatsApp, the user ultimately passes on personal and financial data to criminals and helps spread the scheme.

It's important to remember that the only way to access Netflix for free, but only for a month, not for a year, is when you sign up to use the streaming platform for the first time, as with other services like Spotify e Apple Music.

A detail to keep in mind for the future: if you do not have Netflix account, how do you think the company got your email to send this advertisement?

Do not fall for this blow !!!
