ZAP updates the prices of its services in Angola

Last month, the operator ZAP informed that, given the changes in the national economy, namely the devaluation of the Kwanza national currency, the company would have to update the prices of its services.

A statement that days later was promptly challenged by the INACOM. The country's top communications watchdog warned the carrier that the price increase of four packages of the satellite TV channel (ZAP), to be implemented as of February 26, "constituted a violation of the Law."

Even with INACOM's warning, the operator ZAP "did not back down in its decision".

What is certain is that, as of yesterday, 26 of February, the operator officialized the increase of prices in its packages of the televising channels. With the new tariff the new packages pass to the following prices:

  • The Mini package for 30 days, which cost two thousand and 200 kwanzas, goes to AKZ 3.100.
  •   The Max package, which cost Akz 4.400, currently costs Akz 6.200.
  • The Premium package, which was in the value of Akz 8.800, passes to AKZ 12. 400.

ZAP defends price increases due to changes in the national economy, namely the devaluation of the Kwanza national currency. The company has faced great difficulties in paying its international suppliers and in the exercise of its commercial activities.
