500 Startups is one of the most active and famous investment funds in Silicon Valley, also known for its business acceleration program - founded in 2010 by Dave McClure e Christine Tsai. He also announced that he plans to tour four African cities in 2017 - in a project called The 2017 Geeks on a Plane tour.

The aim of the tour is to teach end-stage startups, investors and executives about high-growth technology markets around the world. It will start on the 20th of March until the 01st of April 2017 and will pass through four African cities; Lagos(Nigeria),  Accra(Ghana), Johannesburg e Cape Town( South Africa).

A 500 Startups it will offer participants the opportunity to gain an insight into local markets, business models, new ventures. The trips will be made by airplanes and automobiles with the aim of uniting geeks (people addicted to technology, computers and the internet) and investigating cross-border opportunities.

From 20 to 23 in March, the tour will be in Lagos then will move to the city of Accra from 23 to 25 in March. Then the next stop will be in Johannesburg, South Africa from 25 to 28 in March and ends in Cape Town from 28 from March to 1 from April.
