Africa Code Week: 1,3 millions of young Africans learned to code in 2017

From 18 to 25 of October of 2017, the free program of Digital Programming for minors called Africa Code Week, which took place throughout Africa. The final result was satisfactory.

Across the African continent, 1,3 million young people were trained in relation to these numbers, Cameroon was in first place for training 930.046 young people, in second place was Morocco that formed 378.825 young people, and third is Ghana, which 138.516 young.

This training was based on learning the Scratch, called a programming language that helps young people to think creatively, to reason systematically and to work collaboratively.

How many young Angolans have learned to encode in this issue of 2017?

During the sessions held in Angola at the most varied institutions, 7.687 young Angolans learned to code, and 520 were trained teachers who had the goal of passing this knowledge.

The aim of 2018 is to increase the number achieved this year, and to reach young residents in the provinces, so that they can also access the program Africa Code Week.
