AMD took advantage of the CES 2021 to announce its Ryzen 5000 mobile processors. AMD CEO Lisa Su took over the reins of the CES 2021 virtual stage presentation. thin and light games, competing directly with the 35th generation Tiger Lake H35 CPUs announced by Intel the day before. The Ryzen 5000 processor line with Zen 3 architecture for portable computers promises to be the best option for “ultrathin notebooks and gamer“. For the H series, which for both Intel and AMD denotes the most powerful processors, AMD adds a new HX level;
The Ryzen 7 5800U becomes AMD's benchmark for notebook computers, with 8 cores, 16 threads and boost up to 4,4 GHz. AMD promises even better energy efficiency, with up to 21 hours of battery life without recharging the laptop and promises to surpass the 7th generation Intel Core i11 in content creation and productivity tasks.
The Ryzen 9 5900HX and 9 5980HX have 8 cores, 16 threads, with a 4,6 GHz boost in the case of the 5900HX and 4,8 GHz in the case of the 5980HX are the most suitable for portable computers for gamers. AMD promises smooth 4K gameplay and the possibility of reaching over 100 frames per second in Full HD.

According to AMD, the first portable computers with the new Ryzen 5000 will hit the market from February.
