Kamba

Lately the national smartphone market has received several good news, which include the promise of building two factories to assemble these devices. In the path of good news, two new smartphones designed for the Angolan market arrived at MenosFios, through the company 7 Mobile, which made the gadgets available to consumers in Angola at very interesting prices. These are the 7 Mobile Smartphones Kamba (the purpose of our analysis in this article) and Sweetie
Several users were very interested in the two smartphones, but will these smartphones be able to compete with their more traditional brand pairs? Let's do it…

Hardware and Design

Kamba follows the usual design on phones with Android operating system, sharp curved edges, with physical buttons for "on / off" and Volume "Up / Down" (all positioned on the right side of the smartphone). There are no physical buttons for "Home", "Back" and "Multitasking".
The structure of the smartphone is metal, with the exception of the back, plastic, which has to be removed to insert the SIM and MicroSD cards.
Removing the cover may give the impression that it is fragile, but after the 3 ª removal, you can confirm that it is quite resistant, so you can open without fear!
The inputs for MicroUSB and Audio Jack 3.5mm are at the top of the smartphone, differing from a good number of smartphones.

Interface and Performance

7Mobile Kamba comes with Android 7, in a very clean version, without too many customizations and proprietary applications, thus giving users the chance to enjoy the best of the Android ecosystem, Google. The only change visible initially is the background paper with the 7Mobile logo.

As for performance, remember we're talking about a mid-range / low-end smartphone with 2GB of RAM. We simulate the most real-life situations in which a user would open some applications like: Messaging, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter, Camera and two games. With all these apps working (some in the background, how could it be), the smartphone did not lock. However, note that whenever the RAM is being consumed at the limit, your smartphone may not perform smoothly.

Benchmark Results

For performance evaluation to be truly valid, we need machines to evaluate machines! So we used two very credible tests to analyze device performance.

AnTuTu v.6.2.7
Result: 24988

Geekbench 4
Single Core Result: 422
Multi Core Result: 1231

There is not a large database of devices with this price in Angola, but compared to mid / low-end releases from other brands, single core performance is a bit below the competition, but when the power of the 4 cores comes top , Kamba manages to be at the level of the others.

Office Supplies

Cameras are now the big differentiator in smartphones, with some manufacturers focusing on non-standard lenses to grab users. The 7Mobile Kamba features an 5Mega Pixels rear camera that will meet your needs if you need to take photos in open or bright places. The front camera can not capture so many details.

Battery life

The 2000mAh Battery guarantees interesting autonomy, if you are not a user “hardcore“, Of those with the data connection connected 24/24 hours, then the battery charge will be more than 18 hours. Using 5 apps (in the foreground and background), with 50% lighting, without 3G data, using only Wi-Fi, we managed to reach about 40 hours.

Conclusion

For a smartphone rated 35.000,00 AKZ, Kamba can perform the basic operations. If you go to the internet, use social networks, take photos in bright light, then you can test Kamba.

  • Strengths are on the screen anti-smash, battery life, the original Android 7.0 and… of course, the price!
  • The finish, the quality of the camera can be indicated as weak points.
An improvement for 7 Mobile, there is no description in the box, nor in the user manual, of the type of SIM card to be used in the device (Micro SIM, Nano SIM?).

Already have this smartphone? Do you have any contributions to make?
