The multinational Angola Cables has partnered with DE-CIX, an established Internet Exchange (IX) operator, to offer premium interconnection services to a variety of neutral IXs for Latin American operators and data centers.

DE-CIX is an operator and data center neutral Internet exchange point located in Frankfurt, Germany. It is the world's largest exchange point in terms of peak traffic, with a maximum throughput of more than 7,2 Tbit / s.

The purpose of the partnership is to expand capabilities and boost the business of ISPs through the South Atlantic connection. The two companies have already established interconnections from Sao Paulo and Fortaleza to Lisbon and are currently planning to interconnect with the same Brazilian cities to the DE-CIX Internet Chambers in New York, Madrid and Frankfurt.

“Through our advanced telecommunications networks, we want to build digital bridges between continents and countries to help companies and economies to grow in the Southern Hemisphere,” says António Nunes, CEO of Angola Cables.

DE-CIX Regional Director for Southern Europe, Theresa Bobis, says there are great benefits from the partnership. “From now on, Angola Cables, as a DE-CIX reseller, will be able to provide Internet service providers (ISPs) with a reliable low latency network and high quality access to premium network interconnections and Internet exchanges in Europe, Middle East, North America and India “.
