Angola with new ICT partnerships with Rwanda and Sweden

The Angolan Government signed on Wednesday (19 June 2019) two Memoranda of Understanding for strengthening cooperation in the field of Telecommunications and Information Technology with Rwanda and the Kingdom of Sweden.

The aforementioned agreements were signed during AngoTic 2019, by the Angolan side initialed Minister of Telecommunications and Information Technologies, JI'm from Carvalho da Rocha, by Rwanda the counterpart, Paula Ingabire, and by Sweden, the plenipotentiary ambassador accredited to Angola, Lennart Killander Larsson.

O Minister José Carvalho da Rocha said the memorandum initialed with Rwanda seeks to identify potential areas, share experiences and put results to the benefit of citizens. With Sweden, he said the memorandum serves to revitalize existing work several years ago. Nthis time we will work on issues of regulation, transfer of knowledge and improve the presence of Swedish companies in Angola".

For Lennart Killander Larsson, the second signer of the memorandum, Angola and Sweden are in a new phase of cooperation and are going to work in areas related to education, staff training and ICT regulation projects.

Rwanda's Minister of Telecommunications, Information Technology, Communication and Innovation Paula Ingabire said the memorandum is a platform for the two countries to implement their digital agendas and exchange experiences in space and security.
