On the 19th of May 2016, the Press Conference held by the Office for the Revitalization and Execution of Institutional Communication and Marketing of the Administration (GRECIMA) took place, in which the ongoing projects of the Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Technologies were presented, where the holder José Carvalho da Rocha, considered that the sector needs to change the taxation of communications tariffs.

During the press conference, José Carvalho da Rocha (Minister of Telecommunications and Information Technology) stressed that it was essential to change the form of taxation of communications in the country in order to allow the user to pay the actual price of the use of those services. He also informed that access to the Internet will in the near future, record improvements in the reduction of costs and services, within the framework of investments in infrastructure that has been made by the Executive.

At present, the country's access to international communications is still limited, since it is served by only two Sat 3 and WACS. “All of this allows the country to access international communications. Even so, the levels reached are below the real needs. Angosat and the new submarine cables will be able to fill this gap. ”

The portfolio holder also considered the entry into operation of the Angosat 1 satellite under construction in Russia a priority, which is scheduled to start in 2017. The satellite has a potential in telecommunications to cover Africa and part of Europe. On the satellite, the orbital position 14.5 E, weight thousand 55 kg, payload weight 262.4 kg, payload power three thousand 753 W, frequency band C, Ku, number of repeaters 16C + 6Ku and with a service life of 15 years.
