[Angola] GGPEN prepares 2 training on small satellites

During this week the telecommunications community in Angola received positively impactful news. To add to the good winds, the Management Office of the National Space Program (GGPEN) has another highlight:

From 17 from May to 14 of June, the Management Office of the National Space Program (GGPEN) promotes the second training on small satellites, at the ITEL Technological Training Center (CFITEL).

The course is a GGPEN bet with educational purpose and aims to transmit to the national academy knowledge about Science and Space Technology.

This course comprises the phases of design, integration, testing and CANSAT (representation of a real satellite in a volume of refrigerant can of 330 ml) and is intended to ensure that all participating teams have the knowledge and equipment necessary to fulfill CANSAT's primary and secondary mission.

More than 30 Institutions of the Higher Education and professional medium-technician at national level, that will be represented by groups of professors-coordinators and students of the diverse areas of engineering.

The training will be taught by Angolan specialists assigned to the internationally certified GGPEN (UNISEC), the last phase being contemplated in ANGOTIC - 2019 with the presence of renowned foreign prelectors.

This course is a project of the Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Technology (MTTI), organized annually at ANGOTIC - Angola ICT Forum, by the Office of Management of the National Space Program (GGPEN) in the Department of Space Sciences and Applied Research (DCEPA) in cooperation with the Angolan academic community to challenge students to make a functional representation of a real satellite integrated into the volume of 330 ml of soda, giving trainees the first experience in projects related to Aerospace Science and Technology. Students will have a broad view of how satellites operate dependent on their missions.
