The internet has changed the way we interact with the world, brought certain advances, ease for some side of the public and also some damage to mobile phone companies, especially telephone operators in Angola, with the popularization of voice services in some applications.
Some time ago, so that we could talk with a person to live in another country (family, friend, boyfriend, etc.), it was necessary to make a telephone call and in case we were traveling, it was necessary to have the roaming service activated, which in terms of cost is quite expensive.
With the development, innovation and implementation of call tools that have been introduced in some social networks and especially in the WhatsApp application that is currently widely used by Internet users in Angola, users have gained a way to save.
One of the main reasons that has contributed to this new reality are the applications over-the-top, are those applications that allow the exchange of messages, video calls or VOIP. Nowadays it has become increasingly difficult for the population to make use of international telephone calls, as it was necessary in the past.
One of the advantages that these applications have brought, is that if the user is connected to a Wi-Fi network, even the international call is completely free. Now if the user is using the 3G or 4G network, the call in this case will consume a few bytes from your data plan and still be less expensive than a normal connection.
So today it is easier to communicate with someone outside our borders through the voice links that WhatsApp, Viber, Messenger and Skype have as a tool. And some of these applications are not only limited to the connection facilities, they also allow video calls to be made, as already mentioned. That is, we can communicate and see the person. All this boils down to the great changes and advantages that the Internet is offering in Angola in particular and in the world in general.
We mention here some of the main applications that offer digital voice calls:
- No Messenger you can make calls either national or international, on the phone icon at the top right of the application. The user sets whether to make a voice or video call.
- In WhatsApp you can also make connections very similar to that of Messenger. Next to the contact photo is a phone icon. Just the user clicks on the application to make a call. Video calls are being tested recently.
- No Viber the option appears immediately in the contact list, next to each name is the phone icon. When opening a contact window, the user also sees the option “free call” highlighted.
- No Skype or Whatsapp, the user simply touches the desired contact and, at the bottom, the phone icon can be found. In the main screen, also at the bottom, there is a keyboard icon. The user can enter a conventional number for calls to landlines and mobiles.
