[Angola] Angosat Project: The first Angolan satellite

Angosat project was launched yesterday in the amphitheater of the Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Technologies. This project that will put into orbit the first Angolan satellite has as main objective to support the national infrastructure of telecommunications and digital terrestrial television throughout the national territory as well as the expansion of broadband internet.

According to the Minister of Telecommunications and Information Technologies this Wednesday in Soyo, José Carvalho da Rocha the launch of this satellite "will be a system that will complement all the infrastructure that is being built in terms of telecommunications." Angolan technicians are being trained in the Russian Federation, since 2011, at least 10 who will be directly connected to the management of Angosat.

The project is budgeted at 320 million US dollars, with estimated production time in 39 months and its estimated useful life is 15 years.
