South Korean app allows selfies and talk with dead

It seems rather bizarre, but the South Korean company ELROIS announced an app that allows users to take selfies and chat with avatars of their friends and relatives who are dead. The application is called “With me".

The idea is to help people in mourning ease the pain of loss. And it brings a combination of 3D technology and artificial intelligence to create the image and personality of the deceased.

With Me's idea is simple. With the help of the application (which is still in development), it would be possible to scan a person while they are still alive to recreate them digitally. This image would be saved on a server and, when requested, it is retrieved and can interact with the user.

According to the app’s creators, the scanned images are capable of responding to gestures, posing for photos and even talking, all thanks to artificial intelligence, but it will not be possible to record the voice of those who send their features to the bank. software data (ie the voice heard is robotic).

The Avatar Cloud Service (VAW) service will be released later this year.
