A Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), is accelerating the adoption of USB-C and the new AirPods and some accessories like the Magic Mouse could begin to be launched with this connectivity standard in the coming months.

Mark Gurman of the news agency Bloomberg, advances that Apple will adopt the USB-C connection more generally in its equipment portfolio in the coming years. in the newsletter Power On, Gurman reveals that the transition from AirPods wireless headsets should be completed in 2024 and Mac accessories could happen as early as next year. Currently Apple uses the proprietary connection known as Lightning as the physical system for transferring data and power in its equipment.

BUT: “Everyone should learn to code,” says Apple boss

O European Parliament, remember, approved last week that the USB-C connectivity standard is the standard within the 'old' continent for a range of devices, from phones, tablets and headphones to laptops. The legislation provides that all new devices sold from the end of 2024 must have a USB-C connection. In the case of laptops, manufacturers have until 2026 to complete the change.

As far as Apple is concerned, the Cupertino company is already testing charging through this port on iPhones and, according to Gurman, the iPhone 15 will be the first with USB-C, something that should happen next fall. The specialist also reveals that Apple's passage through USB-C should be short, since the company intends to completely change the iPhone and iPad to have wireless charging, by induction, “in the coming years”.

Even so, the rumor of an iPhone without ports and with wireless charging arises frequently, without Apple having been able to develop and demonstrate a satisfactory product with these characteristics.
