Cyber ​​attacks is featured in cybersecurity forum

The 1st Forum on Cybersecurity is taking place today, which will bring together several specialists to discuss strategies, with a view to deepening the security of networks and information systems with the aim of increasing the guarantees of free, safe and efficient use of cyberspace by all citizens and public and private entities.

Organized by the Ministry of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication (MINTTICS), the event will feature the presence and interventions of the Minister of State for Economic Coordination, Manuel Nunes Júnior, as well as the holders of the portfolios of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Media, Mário Oliveira, Finance, Vera Daves de Sousa, Energy and Water, João Baptista Borges, and the Governor of the National Bank of Angola, José de Lima Massano.

In an official statement, the organization clarifies that in recent times cyberspace has been developing exponentially, and consequently, the number and sophistication of threats and vulnerabilities have also increased.

"Proportionally, the risks to processes and infrastructures, as well as to the economic, social and cultural models based on their use, increase”, adds the note.

Therefore, the 1st Forum on Cybersecurity will focus on a round table with the theme: The vision of public entities on the impact of cyber attacks on their activity, where the importance of Angolan legislation in the fight against CyberCrime, the impact of cybercrime prevention and the security operations center at the service of cybersecurity for government, public and private companies.

During the forum, the issue of setting up the Cybersecurity Academy will also be addressed, along with those already existing at the Telecommunications Institute (ITEL), with a view to certifying young Angolans, recent graduates in this sector.
