The Government of Benin will purchase reception kits for Digital Terrestrial Television (TNT, French acronym) for local communities to encourage rapid coverage of the country, reported the PANA.

This decision by the Beninese government aims to reinforce, at launch, the availability of the kits in the municipalities through acquisition, with a view to commercial distribution, with the collaboration of local communities, and where this option will satisfy the primary needs of the populations of that African country. , pending full coverage of the national territory by distribution companies.

It should be noted that in 2020, Benin chose the “free access” mode for the launch of Digital Terrestrial Television.

At the end of the decoder testing phase in the laboratory, the High Authority for Audiovisual and Communication (HAAC, acronym in French) granted, last November, authorizations to three models of decoders submitted by three companies under Beninese law, and which began to comply steps to progressively supply the internal market.
