Cáala gains free “broadband” internet access points

The city of Cáala, province of Huambo, gained several new free internet access points “broadband”, which appears within the scope of the “Angola Online” project of the National Institute for the Promotion of the Information Society (INFOSI).

Inaugurated by Mário de Oliveira, Minister of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication, the restored internet access points are installed in the Municipality of Caála, exactly on Avenida Norton de Matos.

The project, an initiative of INFOSI, a public body under the Ministry of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication, aims to promote the development of the information society in Angola.

The activity of users of the Angola Online project basically consists of scientific research into school subjects and other training, correspondence between State bodies, as well as social networks and music.

"Angola Online" also has the support of several national technology companies, with emphasis on Angola TelecomTV Cabo, Internet Technologies Angola (ITA), UNITEL and Zap Fibras, within the scope of their social responsibilities, while in suburban areas they will be installed through the VSat system, that is, via satellite and in each access point 100 megabytes will be installed, for a range of 100 meters away, coupled with lightning rods.
