Cape Verde's participation in the WebSummit this year has a budget of more than 72 thousand euros, with the Secretary of State stressing that it is not an expense, but an investment.
"The impact is being able to make the best partnerships, it is also being able to find the best partners at a technological level, it is being able to do business“, said, in the city of Praia, the Secretary of State for the Digital Economy of Cape Verde, Pedro Lopes, as part of a Government reception for the ten young promoters of initiatives who will participate in what is one of the world's largest innovation fairs, technology and entrepreneurship.
For the member of the executive, the objective is to allow a new generation of entrepreneurs and young people to be able, through digital, to contribute to the development of the country and to their own development.

In addition to the ten startups, selected from 30 applications, the country will be represented by private digital and telecommunications companies and the entire business promotion ecosystem of the archipelago.
"And this is exactly what we want to do, act in community“, continued Pedro Lopes, indicating that renewable energy, agriculture, services, social initiatives are represented, being selected through GoGlobal, operated by Cabo Verde Digital, a Government program managed by Pró-Empresa and Directorate-General for Telecommunications and Digital Economy (DGTED).
In this, his third participation, after 2019 and 2020, Cabo Verde will have a stand, located in Pavilion 5, Number E258, with a focus on promoting the projects of selected startups and the entire digital ecosystem in the country.
The Web Summit takes place in Lisbon from the 1st to the 4th of November, with over 70.000 participants and over 2.600 startups and companies expected. 1.120 investors and will have 1.040 speakers traveling to the Portuguese capital.
