About 70% of national non-oil revenue is collected through the Internet

About 70% of national non-oil revenue is collected through electronic channels, after the General Tax Administration (AGT) has centralized the collection of three of the most significant taxes.

This information was provided by the Secretary of State for Budget and Public Investment, Aia-Eza da Silva, at the conference on the Era of ICT in Public Finance, alluding to the 7th anniversary of the Public Finance Information and Communication Technologies Service (SETIC-FP), a meeting that ended yesterday in Luanda.

The Secretary indicated that AGT centralized the management and collection, as well as digitized the collection of taxes on Value Added (VAT), Special Consumption (IEC) and on Motor Vehicles (IVM), which are also the ones with the highest volume of interaction with taxpayers.

BUT: Electronic services raise more than 500 billion kwanzas

A collection of this magnitude operated through electronic channels is significant for the digitization of the economy, and Angola is no exception, as well as observing the programmatic goals of the 2018-2022 National Development Plan, in the domain of the Public Administration Reform Program.

These goals establish the promotion of "smart government” (Smart Government) as a privileged way of providing services to the public and among the bodies of the Public Administration, with the maximization of the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT).

According to the Secretary of State, the challenge of cybersecurity is, however, one of the obstacles for public finance management support systems to operate with each other in the areas of revenue and expenditure execution, asset and debt registration .

"This is one of the fronts on which we need to move forward quickly and safely: the interoperability of public finance management support systems”He concluded.
