A Unitel held this Thursday (08), the third edition of the applications contest- “Unitel Apps Angola 2018 ″, with the aim of developing applications created exclusively by Angolans.
O contest Unitel Apps Angola is a competition that aims to identify the best applications and the best developers of the country, with a view to enhancing the Digital Ecosystem of Angola. In this edition, the competition had three categories, namely: Free theme; Games; Social Responsibility and Startups.
Apps participating in the Free theme category:
- Paywork- an application focused on personnel recruitment and contracting services.
- A Our Band- app that aims to buy and sell comics.
- Itel kids- an augmented reality application.
Apps participating in the Games category:
- The Ventures of Manucho- an interactive 3D gaming application
- Angola Vante- an application for entrepreneurship games.
- Lenga On Nvula- application of reading incentive.
- Mama Mandou- social education game application.
Participating apps in the Social Responsibility category:
- Monandengue- application of national language learning games.
- Sporting Angola- application of coverage of sporting events.
- Yetu Mudieto- an application that aims to help reception centers with monetary donations.
Apps participating in the Startups category:
- At where!- a platform that provides centralized information on identities and services.
- Online Tickets- online ticket sales and management website.
- Soba eMusic- platform for selling and buying music online.
Unitel Apps Angola 2018 Winners Apps
The jury composed by Juelson Bartolomeu, Chief Department of Innovation at Unitel, Amílcar Safeca, CTO at Unitel, Ryno Rijnsburger CTO at Microsoft 4Afrika Pieter Verkade, CCO at Unitel, elected the following apps as the winners:
- Itel kids developed by Branislaves Coceiro, it was the big winner in the Free Theme category, an augmented reality application that drew a lot of attention from the assistants for its operation.
- Lenga On Nvula is an application created by Bernado Sângula, was the great winner in the category of Games, that the practitioner must preserve the books of the rain, it also shows several parts of our city as well as some phrases that very encourage reading.
- In the category of Social Responsibility, Monandengue a learning application of national languages, created by Hermenegildo Pombal, was the great winner.
- And finally the site Online Tickets of the pair Aires Francisco and Almeida Manuel were awarded winners in the category of Startups. A platform that helps event planners sell their tickets, as well as make it easy for people interested to buy from a distance.
Each award-winning application in the Unitel Apps Angola competition received a cash prize of 500 1,000 kwanzas, a voice and data plan, and support for the development of its initiatives by Unitel Innovation. It is worth remembering that for this edition, a group from the province of Huíla participated, which participated with the game Angola Vante.
The Less Fios congratulates all participants and Unitel for organizing the contest, it was remarkable that the country has been growing each year in terms of application developers from various areas.
