A internet has become an essential part of modern life, even though there are places where people do not have such easy access, but nowadays there are organizations that help in its better distribution as well as the definition of policies for its better functioning and governance .

The African IXP Association (Af-IX) is a group of internet exchange points (IXP), where operators from across Africa are brought together by a common need to coordinate and exchange knowledge. IXPs are core Internet infrastructure services that allow networks to interconnect and exchange traffic directly, thereby creating a fast, local, and cost-effective source of bandwidth.

According to the elections held recently to elect the board of directors of the African Association of IXP, among the new members is the Angolan Darwin da Costa who will be part of this new board for a period of two years, along with the other elected members, totaling nine ( 9) people.
