I was listening to the EP that the Singra launched last 17 in September to free download with a friend when he was surprised at the quality of sound coming out of my PC. He was surprised because he had some columns that were even better than mine (Harman Kardon HKTS 30WQ) and had already heard the music we heard at home and had not had the same sound quality.

After diagnosis, we came to the conclusion that the Media Player he used did not even have half the functions that mine had. I soon realized what the problem was: he used the Windows Media Player… And that's how I realized that many people still use WMP to listen to music and even to watch videos just because it is the program that comes with Windows.

Although there are many programs to listen to music on the PC like  Music Bee, Clementine and the VideoLan not all are as good as the others. There are 3 programs that currently stand out a bit from the rest:

• MediaMonkey : If you have an absurdly huge amount of music on your computer, Media Monkey is a program that you should consider to keep everything organized. This media player has more options for taging, organizing and managing than I can count. In addition to its organizational capabilities, MediaMonkey has the same functions as most of its competitors, such as syncing, podcasting and folder watching. It is also the only player, other than iTunes, capable of sync with iOS devices.
  
• Foobar2000: Foobar 2000 is an extremely light and incredibly customizable media player. You can not do much more than play a song and tag it but you have a legion of plugins that lets you customize the features of it. It is not however easy to use, but in the hands of a more advanced user it manages to become one of the best media players in the market, that is if not the best.
• Winamp: Winamp is highly customizable without being too difficult to use, which means that most users are able to easily tinker with the interface, install extra plugins and get the program to work as they want. In comparison, Winamp can be a fantastic media player but it has its flaws when compared to other programs. For example, it is not as customizable as Foobar200 and does not offer as good an organization as MediaMonkey. Although it is quite good in these areas, it is simply inferior to those other programs in them, however it does offer some very interesting and desirable options such as the creation and management of playlists and “smart” playlists that are updated based on personalized filters and remote access and sharing of our music from any web browser.

Although these are the 3 main choices that the market has to offer, they are not the only ones. It is difficult to point out which is the best media player of all, not only because a good media player for listening to music is not necessarily the best for watching videos and vice versa, but also because each program offers a different type of service, the best being it is always choosing the program that best serves our interests. Don't forget to customize your program so that you can have the best sound possible for each of your favorite songs.
