Currently, 12 Angolan students and instructors participate, as of Friday, August 11, of the Regional Final of the 5th edition of Huawei ICT Competition, a global competition created by Huawei in 2013 to drive the development of ICT talent for industry development and digital transformation globally. The competition had its official opening today on the 10th, and the tests will take place on the 11th and 12th of the current year, at the facilities of CINFOTEC, located in the Municipality of Belas, Via S2, S / N from 09:00 am.
In this edition, which took place exceptionally online, 3 technical institutes participate in the competition: the Higher Institute of Information and Communication Technologies (ISUTIC) with 3 students and an instructor, in the Computer Networks category; the Integrated Technological Training Center (CINFOTEC) with 6 students and an instructor in the categories of Computer Networks and Cloud Computing and the ICT School of CP (ISCP) with three students and an instructor in the Computer Networks category.
Divided into two parts, participants will undergo tests for building and operating networks and cloud computing, in the formats of knowledge and technical skill tests using, as a methodology, the application of tests with simulators and in a virtual laboratory environment. .
According to Luís Erivaldo Gonçalves, responsible for Huawei's Talent Ecosystem in Angola, “By participating in the competition our students now have access to the standard HUAWEI certification system. On the other hand, they now have access to a platform to compete and exchange ideas in order to improve their knowledge in terms of Information and Communication Technology, acquire practical skills and of immediate application and increase their awareness in terms of innovation ” .
After the regional competition, the winners will participate in the global competition, which is usually held in China, where they will compete with more than 40 teams from different countries around the world.
