I believe that we are many who have never seen a visually impaired (blind person) use the largest social network in the world, yes the Facebook, people with a visual disability can now use Facebook with a certain ease thanks to artificial intelligence.

This will be possible since Facebook will automatically begin to describe the content of photos for the blind and visually impaired with a new feature called “automatic alternative text”

This system recognizes objects in photos using machine learning that helps build artificial intelligences using prediction algorithms. If they show a piece of software sufficient images of a dog, for example, at the moment they will be able to identify a dog from a photograph, then use the feature VoiceOver iPhone to read the descriptions of photos aloud to users.

Although still in its early stages, technology can safely identify concepts in categories including transportation (“car”, “boat”, “airplane”), nature (“snow”, “ocean”, “sun”), sports (“ basketball court “) and food (” sushi “). The technology can also describe people ("baby", "smiling," beard "), and identify a selfie.

In a first phase this feature will only be available for users who use the iOS system, and later for the Android system.
