O The New York Times came forward with the news that at least five Russian telecom operators have blocked access to Google News for Russian residents.

This 'cut' comes after the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, accused the leader of the Wagner paramilitary group, Yevgeny Prigozhin, of organizing an armed rebellion. It is known that access to Google's news aggregator has been blocked by some of the biggest Russian operators, among them Rostelecom, U-LAN and Telplusl.
